Section 6 : The Residue or The Rest  of your estate (for help click here)

First of all your executors will pay any debts of taxes, then gifts you make, then finally they will dispose of "the residue". It is normally the largest part of your estate.
Below are some common gifts of residue. However you may choose other variations. We have kept this form simple. If you need more complicated arrangements put them in the "Additional Wishes Box"

I leave the rest of my estate to my wife/husband/partner/friend if he/she survives me by 28 days

If you have ticked "Yes", insert now the names of the person you want the residue to go to.

Name
Yes
If he/she does not survive me - or if I am a widow/widower then I leave the rest of my estate to my child/children in equal shares.

If you have ticked "Yes",  insert now the names of the person you want the residue to go to.

Name*

If any of the above people* die before you do you want

Yes
That person's share dividing between the survivors?  Yes
OR That person's share to go to that person's child/children? Yes
NB. None of the above may cover what you want to do with your residue. For instance you may not want to leave the residue equally but in different shares. You may want to leave it to Charity, or between different charities in different shares. As long as you state clearly what you want to do we can accommodate your wishes. GO NOW TO THE ADDITIONAL WISHES BOX  and fill it in.

Section 7 : Additional Wishes.

Whilst we have tried to cover the most common examples of will instructions in this form every eventuality cannot be included. If there are any other instructions or queries you have it is important to fill in this section.

In certain circumstances, certain people such as former spouses from whom you are not divorced, estranged children, or parents or relatives may be able to inherit your estate or contest your will. For your peace of mind and to make things clearer after your death please state who they are and why you have decided to exclude them from your will. If you need advice on this please ask us.

Section 8 : Money

Never an easy word, but sadly something we have to deal with. We are hoping to introduce credit card facilities for client if the need demands it. Unfortunately there is a cost to us and a security issue about giving out credit card details over the internet for you. As we will be sending out the will, in all likelihood, by post or email, we will send out an invoice at the same time.

The cost, however, is fixed (unless we receive additional instructions in the additional wishes box above or by some other method which make the will more complicated and entail additional work)

Standard Fees

Single Will :  £80 + VAT
Joint Will :  £150 + VAT

* I have checked that the details in my form are correct and that they form the basis of my instructions to you to draft my will. I have read the notes for guidance contained in this site Yes
* I understand that Abney Garsden McDonald will draft my will from my instructions alone and are not liable for any instructions not communicated by me, or for any tax/inheritance consequences arising from my instructions unless advice in specifically requested Yes
Unfortunately we cannot accept your instructions unless you tick both these boxes
