Welcome to the Manchester City Council Group Home Page. The Manchester Homes Group Action includes any person who alleges abuse whilst resident at any children's home managed or controlled by Manchester City Council. (See Group Litigation Order for more details). To date the names of the homes, which have been mentioned are Rosehill, Broomehouse, Mobberley, Lynwood, Ellerslie and two other small homes called Dickinson Road and Seymour Road.

Formely (group now closed) the rules stated

To qualify for the group:-

• Significant abuse at the home in question during the relevant period chosen

• Instructions that the client wants to proceed with any group litigation

• Proof of funding either by way of private, CFA, or legal aid (all applications to Special Cases Unit, 3rd & 4th Floors, Invicta House, Trafalgar Place, Cheapside, Brighton, BN1 4FR; DX 2752 Brighton 1 )

• Signature of an Inter-Claimant's agreement.

We will then:-

• Send you a Welcome Pack with all the information you need

• Advise you upon progress

• Co-ordinate the Group Action on your behalf as your agent.

• You must send us relevant documents from your case and keep us advised of the progress of your case.

Remember:-

• Cost sharing is fundamental to group membership.

• The group funding is governed by the Legal Services Commission
