Position : Legal Clerk - Child Abuse Department.

John joined the firm in April 2001 following his retirement from Merseyside Police where he served for nearly 38 years. He rose quickly through the  ranks to become a Detective Superintendent. For a time he was Deputy Head of Merseyside CID. His last post commanded him nationwide respect as head of "Operation Care" which was the biggest and most successful historic child abuse police investigation in the country based at Upton on the Wirral. It successfully prosecuted many child abusers, and investigated abuse at 80 children's homes in the Merseyside region.

John is assisting with investigative research into the many cases we are dealing with, taking statements, watching prosecutions, and Public Interest Immunity  applications for material the subject of police prosecutions.

Samantha Follows

Position: Solicitor Child Abuse Department, & Head of Training, Cheadle Hulme Office

Samantha acts for individuals who have been abused and joined us in the Summer of 2000. She qualified as a solicitor in August 1996. At a previous firm she has had dealings with abuse work in care proceedings. She was also instrumental in setting up an open door domestic violence unit in Chorley. She is in charge of our library & Training programme.
