Peter GarsdenSolicitors Abney Garsden McDonald have announced the closure of their Park Lane Office in Poynton almost 20 years after they first bought the buidling from auction in 1987.

By moving just four miles down the road, solicitors and staff will leave the village and set a new base at neighbouring Cheadle Hulme.

The move, which coincides with the recent retirement of Paul McDonald founder and Partner in charge of the Poynton Office is part of the firm's strategy to centralise operations and create a more integrated organisation. Managing Partner, Peter Garsden insisted that their clients in the village could still be well served from their new home.

He said, "Whilst we would have liked to continue to have a presence inAGM (Cheadle Hulme) Poynton, economies of scale mean that managing the firm with one set of premises isf far more efficient and communication far easier.
We remain committed, however to serving our Poynton clients from Cheadle Hulme which is only a short distance away by road or train.

He added that the firm, which offers a comprehensive range of legal services, will strive to continue to offer the same high level of service on whic it has built its reputation.
