ACAL(Association of Child Abuse Lawyers)- The Association of Child Abuse Lawyers is a company limited by guarantee set up for the benefit of lawyers, experts and other professionals involved in the field of obtaining compensation for the physical, sexual or emotional abuse of children and adults abused in childhood. ACAL holds a national database of solicitors working for abuse survivors. All solicitors on ACAL’s database are required to have undergone appropriate training. The ACAL website is an excellent source of legal information and cases and contains relevant updated news items.

Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL)- The association of Personal Injury Lawyers is a professional body for lawyers working with victims of Accidents and Clinical Negligence. Over 5,000 solicitors and barristers work with the association to fight for law reform to improve access to justice. Although APIL cannot offer legal advice or guidance they may be able to point you in the right direction.

Attorney Café- is a legal website builder for law firms, attorneys and legal offices.

BAILLI- the new legal database which is planned to be a national source of legal material. It has been helped to come to fruition by the Barrister Laurie Wests-Knight, and has been inspired by the Australian model. We are way behind both of our commonwealth cousins. This site will grow daily into a massive resource. It has a very good search engine. Even though the database is not complete, a word search on "child abuse" produced many hits.

Children & Young People- "The only web magazine for those working with and caring for children and young people."

Citizen's Advice Bureau- Adviceguide provides information on your rights, including benefits, housing and employment, and on debt, consumer and legal issues. Developed by Citizens Advice, the independent advice, policy and campaigning charity, you can get information specific to all four UK countries.

Community Legal Service- CLS LogoJust Ask! is the website of the Community Legal Service (CLS). The CLS aims to ensure that people in England and Wales can get impartial information and advice about their legal rights and help with enforcing them. The site is published in a range of languages to ensure access to the whole community.

Credit Report, Credit Repair and Bankruptcy- The best resource for all your credit repair needs, including getting a free credit report, credit repair programs, where to get a debt consolidation loan and a source of bankruptcy information.

Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority- A Government body that makes "no fault" compensation awards to victims of violent crime.

Delia Venables Web Site- it has an amazing source of links to any type of website of any interest to lawyers and the public. It is an essential starting point for any type of legal information. It has a list of all the solicitors web sites, government web sites, information services etc. Abney Garsden McDonald are listed.

Eclipse Legal Systems- specialises in the provision of Case Management software to legal practitioners. Its system - ProCLAIM® - is in use by over 4,000 partners, fee earners and case handlers throughout the UK, at firms ranging in size from 3 to 300 users. ProCLAIM® integrates all document management, reporting, accounting, time recording and diary functions, and can be fully web-enabled to allow clients and referrers to securely view their live case files online. The system also allows users to send SMS text messages directly to client’s mobile telephones.

Irish Survivors- A site set up by Abney Garsden McDonald solicitors, for the purposes of helping clients make a claim to the Irish Redress Board, which has now closed. The Redress Board was created to provide compensation to the survivors of abuse in certain institutions within the Republic of Ireland.

Legal Directory and Search Engine- Help for personal injury, road accident, accident at work, trip or slip, criminal injury, industrial disease, medical negligence and animal attack claims in the UK. Search for Solicitors, Accident Claims Specialists, Barristers, Personal Injury Lawyers, Accident Compensation Solicitors and UK Legal Resources,

Legal Services Commission- (formerly the Legal Aid Board)  A site with a lot of useful information about the rules of Legal Aid, who is eligible, what is covered etc.

Linex Legal- distributes content for over 1000 legal content sources world-wide, notifying lawyers, in house counsel and more of new updates and reviews by way of a weekly email Alerter.

National Society for Children and Family Contact- The NSCFC believes that the needs of children and society as a whole are best served where children benefit from the love and support of both parents: because "today’s child is tomorrow’s parent". High levels of emotional stress caused by separation or divorce can result in actions by parents that may have damaging effects on their children. The Society actively promotes the case for mediation to break cycles of animosity, and works to ensure that welfare organisations and the courts serve the best interests of the child.

Rights of Women- Rights of Women is a women’ s voluntary organisation committed to informing, educating and empowering women concerning their legal rights. It features details of their advice line, as well as downloadable information sheets and other resources for those seeking help, Their accessible website went live in December 2002. There are special features giving legal advice on domestic violence, divorce, and child contact.

Samaritans- This site needs no introduction.

The Law Society- This site contains many useful pieces of information about solicitors. There is a section devoted to consumers. It recently had an overhaul and is quite attractive visually

The Legal Services Commission- They can provide public funding (formerly known as "legal aid"), subject to means and legal tests, for survivors of abuse to pursue civil compensation claims

The Times- A free copy of the Newspaper appears daily. Although it does not have a word search facility there is a list of contents every day to enable you to look for an article you like - they also keep all back editions - you need to know what day the article appeared however

Victim Support- Victim Support is committed to providing people affected by crime with appropriate and sufficient recognition, support and information to help them deal with their experience, and to ensuring that their rights are acknowledged and advanced in all aspects of criminal justice and social policy.

Visual Credit Counseling- Visual Credit Counseling is a non-profit organization dedicated to offering debt management assistance to consumers who are having difficulties with their personal finances.
