About Us
This site was set up in April 2002 by Abney Garsden McDonald Solicitors in partnership with the Irish Outreach workers organisations, ACAL (Association of Child Abuse Lawyers), and some of the support groups in an attempt to co-ordinate in a sensible way the claims to the Irish Redress Board by survivors of abuse in Irish Institutions who live in the United Kingdom.
It is intended to be a source of information for all survivors, support groups, legal representatives. and other persons connected with the Redress Board.
A steering group of English solicitors has now been set up consisting of Abney Garsden McDonald Solicitors of Manchester, Hodge Jones & Allen of London, Matthew Gold & Co of London, and Linder Myers of Manchester, who are intending to maintain dialogue with the Redress Board so as to create as fair and efficient a system for the survivors and their solicitors as possible.
