Garsden McDonald pass their final Legal Aid Franchise Audit. The
auditor comments that the result is very good and the sort of
quality test that one would expect to see two years after passing
when everyone was more used to the systems. |

The
firm are awarded their Second Investors in People certificate.
Whereas in most organisations after the first audit the standards
slip, the auditor comments that the personnel procedures at Abney
Garsden McDonald have improved since 1996 when the first
certificate was granted. The officer from the Tech comments that
it is the best audit result she has seen from an organisation
of our size |

The
firm start a group action arising from the defective Greater Manchester
Police swab blood tests. All relevant drivers who were convicted
of Drinking and Driving have their convictions quashed and are
eventually awarded compensation under a Home Office scheme. The
action is co-ordinated by Susan Jervis at our Cheadle office |
